The b.Board Classroom Launch Add-On Kit expands your classroom’s b.Board experience into motion, mechanics, and automation. Designed to work with the b.Board Classroom Core Kit, it provides educators with the tools to guide 30 students working in pairs. Students explore how coding drives movement, control, and mechanical design through hands-on, collaborative projects.
Suggested Grade Levels: Grades 4 – 12
What’s Inside
- Ultrasonic Sensor (15): Detects distance and movement for responsive builds.
- Micro Servo (15): Provides controlled rotation for turning or motion mechanisms.

Learning Focus
This kit helps educators guide learners as they explore how coding brings motion and mechanics to life. Through hands-on instruction, educators lead students in designing systems that move, sense, and react while developing understanding of mechanical design, automation, and problem-solving through experimentation. Projects such as temperature-activated fans and distance-sensing machines connect engineering concepts with real-world applications.
Skill Development
This kit introduces motion control, automation, and mechanical logic through coding and electronics. Learners progress from simple motor operation and LED signalling to multi-component projects that integrate sensors, movement, and control systems, building creativity and logical thinking.
STEAM Learning Outcomes
- Science: Explore motion, energy, and force through hands-on experimentation with motors and movement.
- Technology: Use sensors, coding, and automation to create smart, responsive systems.
- Engineering: Design, build, and refine mechanical structures that move or perform tasks.
- Arts: Combine creativity and design thinking to enhance the function and appearance of your projects.
- Mathematics: Apply timing, sequencing, and measurement to control speed, motion, and distance.
Connected UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The project resources available with this kit connect learning to the global goals below. Additional SDGs may be linked depending on each project.
- SDG 4 – Quality Education: Encourages hands-on learning in coding, mechanics, and automation through creative, real-world projects.
- SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy: Inspires curiosity about energy transfer, motion, and sustainable design principles.
- SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure: Strengthens innovation, problem-solving, and early engineering skills through prototyping.
- SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities: Links automation and design thinking to concepts of efficiency, accessibility, and safety in everyday life.
